Dr.Korrin Saunders has a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, with a concentration on trauma in children and adolescents, from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, in Chicago, IL. Dr. Saunders completed her APA clinical internship at University of California-Davis Children's Hospital at the CAARE Diagnostic and Treatment Center specializing in treating and assessment of children exposed to trauma and abuse. Dr. Saunders has extensive experience working with families and youth engaged in child welfare services, and served as the clinical director of a middle school for children involved in foster care. She continues to consult on mental health issues with various charter schools in the DC area and frequently presents on the manifestation of trauma in school settings.
Currently Dr. Saunders is a psychologist for The Wake Kendall Group where she provides DBT therapy, psychological evaluations, and individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Her interest is in providing evidenced-based treatment for individuals who have experienced trauma, and is particularly focused in promoting resilience through therapy. Dr. Saunders also has considerable experience working with youth and families in the LGBTQ+ community, specializing in trans and gender-questioning youth. She is a member on the diversity advisory board of the National Children’s Museum. Dr. Saunders currently resides with her wife and daughter in Washington D.C.
