SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

We’ll begin this section on Social Development in toddlers and young children by looking at typical social development, as seen in play and behavior.  Next, we’ll cover some of the ways in which trauma alters children’s social skills.  We will follow these introductory sections with a discussion on how to use trauma informed interventions to promote social development -beginning with the use of physicality and movement, then thinking, relationships, and lastly, feelings.
