A bit more about Mervin Maier

Mervin has been a licensed therapist since 1975. In that time he has worked in many therapeutic domains, community counseling agencies, private practice and residential treatment. He worked for 13 years in residential treatment including living and working in Italy for 7 years. His experience in Italy deeply influenced his work with families and his understanding of the importance of nurturing the family structure.
Since returning to the U.S. in 1995 Mervin has worked in agencies as a therapist, supervisor and Program Director predominately working with children, teens and families. Since 2006 he solely works in private practice and combines supervision, consultation, and training with his therapy practice.
He is trained by Dan Hughes, Ph.D. and is a certified Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) therapist, consultant, and trainer. Mervin has taught multiple DDP trainings in the U.S., U.K, and Europe.
