David Simpson’s work experience includes founding a software communications company (PointAcross), a trade association (California Internet Services Providers Association), and a green energy consulting firm (Environmental Futures, Inc.). David also worked as an investigative newspaper reporter (New Orleans Times-Picayune) and as a regulatory and policy lawyer (SimpsonPartners). In addition, David has extensive non-profit governance experience in the field of youth development and education. (His clients included Making Waves, Citizen Schools and the Oakland Unified School District.) He served for more than a decade on the boards of Aim High and Back on Track, and he currently serves on the board of AccessEd. He holds a BA (History and French Literature) from Williams College, an MA (Political Science and Philosophy) from Oxford University and a JD from Golden Gate University.
