Dr. Deanna Linville is an Associate Research Professor at the University of Oregon’s Center for Equity Promotion and is contracted to provide research and program consultation to A Home Within. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Oregon and an AAMFT approved supervisor. Dr. Linville has two decades of experience providing direct mental health care, clinical supervision, and training as well as conducting clinical research. Drs. Ruff and Linville are co-principal investigators on a funded project to evaluate A Home Within’s effectiveness for mitigating barriers to mental healthcare access for former and current foster youth and improving their psychosocial wellbeing. Through her research role at the Center for Equity Promotion, she, and Dr. Saralyn Ruff are conducting a community-based needs assessment with the former and current foster youth community. Using community-based action research methods, Drs. Linville and Ruff will engage the A Home Within and foster care community to better understand former and current foster youth's mental health service needs and how to best mitigate barriers to accessing high quality mental healthcare. In addition, Dr. Linville is contracted by A Home Within to provide consultation on the development and evaluation of Continuing Education and clinical consultation programming for AHW volunteer clinicians.
