Dr. Rivka Edery is a skilled, committed and empathetic therapist focusing on trauma and complex PTSD. She holds a doctorate in clinical and applied psychology and is licensed as a clinical social worker. Her dedication lies in aiding individuals in overcoming abandonment issues, complex trauma and attachment challenges. Employing proven methods such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) she supports clients in their quest, for strength, health and secure connections.

Course Description

Healing through Self-Energy and Advanced Techniques" is the 120-minute capstone session of the series, designed as an evidence-based introduction for therapists. This part focuses on the active "Healing" phase of IFS. Participants will learn the art of helping clients "unblend" from parts, the importance of the therapist's own "Self-energy" as the "active ingredient" in healing, and the specific 3-step sequence to unburden trauma from exiled parts.

Credits

This course is eligible for 2 continuing education credits.

12:00–12:10: Recap and introduction to advanced IFS techniques
12:00–12:50: Practice unblending, witnessing, and retrieval techniques
12:50–1:30: Role-playing and case discussions on therapist Self-energy
1:30-2:00: Q&A and course integration

Learning Objectives

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Apply 2-3 techniques that help a client access self-energy.
  2. Utilize 3 core healing steps to within a trauma-bond case example using IFS mapping and unblending skills.
  3. Explain and demonstrate 2-3 healing steps for an exiled part (Witnessing, Retrieval, Unburdening) within a trauma-bond case example.
