What's a fun fact about you?
Irene: A fun fact is that I spent a good chunk of my childhood in Athens, Greece. One of my favorite jokes is, "Why did the banana go to the doctor? Because it wasn't 'peeling' well". I'm full of toddler jokes my 5-year-old still appreciates. :D
Why did you decide to join A Home Within?
Irene: I decided to join A Home Within because I spent years working with foster youth, their parents, and foster parents. Also, my mom was a foster kid. I've always been service-oriented and after I started my private practice during the pandemic, I missed working with disenfranchised populations as well as offering something without an expected return. A Home Within gives me the opportunity to connect with a former foster youth as a volunteer therapist which is deeply rewarding.
