What's a fun fact about you?

Margaret: Some fun facts about me are that I once won a head stand contest and a contest where I sat on a block of ice for 2.5 hours when I was about 8 years old. I love tennis and still play and compete regularly.

Why did you decide to join A Home Within?

Margaret: What drew me to A Home was the opportunity to work with former foster children as I spent six years, years ago, as a child and family service worker. I know how difficult it is for children and teens to have no permanent home and to be removed from their parents or families. I love the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life.

What is your favorite part about volunteering with A Home Within?

Margaret: Some of the things that I love about A Home Within is the opportunity to have consultation meetings with other therapists doing the same work that I am. When you’re in private practice, you don’t always get to work with your peers which can be isolating. I also appreciate very much the trainings that they offer. The program and the people working in it have all been so warm and helpful. I would recommend to any of my colleagues who are looking for a wonderful volunteer opportunity to check out A Home Within.
